Discover the second capital of the Costa Blanca, home to two UNESCO World Heritage Sites, a must-see on any visit to this region. A journey that combines history, nature, heritage, and fishing traditions through 7 ancient civilizations.

🌴 Elche – World Heritage Site

The largest palm grove in Europe has shaped the evolution of this ancient city like few others, having been home to up to 7 civilizations. Elche holds dual UNESCO recognition:

  • Its ancient Palm Grove, the largest in Europe
  • The famous Misteri d’Elx, a living tradition

We will explore its Historic Center, stopping at the Basilica of Santa María, where we will climb the Bell Tower to enjoy a unique panoramic view over the city and palm grove, as well as the Altamira Palace. The remains of the Arab medina and its imposing basilica form part of a medieval landscape that contrasts with the modern city, immersed in the footwear industry.

Don’t miss the MAHE – Archaeological and History Museum of Elche, where the famous Lady of Elche and the remains of the civilizations that inhabited these lands come to life through an exceptional collection.

👞 We will visit one of its factories, with the possibility of buying shoes at great prices — one of the highlights of this excursion.

🌊 Santa Pola – Maritime Tradition and Nature

On the way back to the coast, we head to Santa Pola, the former Roman Portus Ilicitanus, now a favorite destination for thousands of holidaymakers. Along the way, we will enjoy the magnificent views of Arenales del Sol.

Salt flats, pink flamingos, Cap de l’Aljub, and Tabarca Island are all part of the everyday scenery of this fishing town. You will discover its maritime history, its fortress-castle, and its importance as a unique ecological enclave.
